James “Doug” Luna, 78, of Minden, Nevada, passed away November 5, 2004, in Carson City, Nevada. He was born May 1, 1926, in Stewart, Oklahoma, to Marcus and Martha (Tilly) Luna.

Mr. Luna was raised and educated in Oklahoma. He moved to the northwest to work in road construction out of Portland, Oregon. He was a project manager and superintendent in road construction for 48 years.

Mr. Luna was married for 54 years to his wife, Nellie.

The Lunas retired to Minden. He was a member of Mensa and Kiwanis clubs in California and Elkin, Idaho, and the Catholic church.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Grant Luna of San Diego, California, and Greg Luna and daughter-in-law, Mari, of Spokane, Washington; daughter, Shelley Hill, and son-in-law, Britt, of Minden; grandsons, Derek and Clayton Weaver of Minden, Gregory Jr. and Anthony Luna of Spokane, and Erik Luna of Salt Lake City, Utah; brother, Wayne Luna of Stanton, Texas, and sister, Mary Helen Rowland of Lubbock, Texas; eight nieces and four nephews.
