Ulis “Jeff” Jefferson, 70, of Yellville, Arkansas, passed away on April 9, 2009, at his home. He was born on August 5, 1938, to Wallace and Delphia Pierce Jefferson. He was a member of the Yellville First Baptist Church and served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. He married Lela Burgess on October 9, 1965. They owned and operated the Hilltop Restaurant. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Larry. Jeff is survived by his wife; one daughter, Vicky Harris of Yellville, three brothers, Otis Jefferson and Cleo Jefferson, both of McAlester, and Cleno Jefferson of Riverside, California; three sisters, Loretta Wooley and Ruth Jackson, both of McAlester, and Alice Hayes of Shawnee, Kansas; five grandchildren, Justin Johnson, Corey Johnson, Jeffrey Hansen, Colby Harris and Logan Harris; and two step-grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson and Tessa Johnson.
