Ralph James passed away April 19, 2007. He was born October 31, 1925, in Kanima, Oklahoma, the son of original enrollee Daniel James and Della James. He was raised in Bokoshe.
Mr. James was a retired petroleum engineer. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. Ralph enjoyed his trips to Tuskahoma and always wore his Choctaw Veteran jacket with pride. He was buried at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
Survivors include his daughters, Debbie of Torrance, California and Jennifer and Claudia, both of Broken Arrow; son, Donald, also of Broken Arrow; ten grandchildren; brothers, Joe of Broken Arrow and Dan of Cookson; sisters, Helen of Tulsa and Mary of Phoenix, Arizona.
