John W. Jarvis, Jr., 57, OF Bosque Farms, New Mexico, passed away one December 20, 1994. He was born on September 21, 1937 in Tuskahoma, Oklahoma to John W. Jarvis, Sr. and Ollie May Fitzgerald. He was he grandson of Millie Carnes Anderson, original enrollee and the nephew of the late Richard Fitzgerald, and active leader in the Choctaw community.

J.R. (as he was known) worked for 34 years for US West, retiring in 1993. He was active in rodeo, team roping and was an active participant in fundraising activities for the University of New Mexico Cowboys for Cancer Research team ropings over the last 12 years s well as New Mexico High School Rodeo supporters.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda of Bosque Farms; step-mother, Evelyn Jarvis of Mt View, Oklahoma; sisters, Patsy Bryant of Canyon Lake, California and Tahana Lopez of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Cleo (Butch) Jarvis of Blanchard, Oklahoma; daughters, Robyn dawn Jarvis of Huntington Beach, California and Natalie and Billy Salopek of Las Cruces, New Mexico; sons, Blain, Ruston Richard and Bryan Richards o Las Cruces and grandchildren, Jesse and Rebecca Haynie and Brittany Richard of Las Cruces and numerous relatives and friends.
