Geraldine (Byington) Johnson Barker, 69, passed away May 18, 2004, in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She was the only living child of James and Juanita Byington.

Born and raised in Duncan, Oklahoma, she married Almer Ray Johnson on October 12, 1952. Blessed with two children, April and Rusty, the Johnsons lived in various areas, returning to Oklahoma regularly for visits. After 18 years of marriage, Mr. Johnson passed away in May of 1971. Geraldine then met and married Alfred K. Barker and settled in Knights Landing, California.

In 1981, the loss of her only son prompted Mrs. Barker to retire from work. She loved to knit and crochet and made many beautiful things for family and friends. On many occasions, she took home the prize when playing her favorite card game, bridge. Geraldine enjoyed gatherings of family and friends, taking particular joy in Christmas, her favorite holiday.

In 1998, Geraldine and Al moved to Macdoel, California, to realize their dream of retirement until his untimely death in 2002.

Although her last visit to Oklahoma was more than ten years ago, she continued her connection with friends. Geraldine was proud of her Choctaw heritage and passed on her knowledge to those who survive her. She is greatly missed by all who knew her.
