Sarah Annie Garland Miss Annie Haynie, 92, of Millerton, died in Valliant. She was born October 7, 1903 in Parsons, Indian Territory.

Haynie had lived her entire life in McCurtain County. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Idabel, a member of the Eastern Star, the Historical Society, the Millerton Home Extension Club and Moms of America. She was also an original enrollee of the Choctaw Nation.

Miss Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Haynie in 1971 and five sons, Clarence, Lowell, John Burl and Clifton.

Survivors include three sons, Don Haynie and Roger Haynie both of Garvin and Phillip Haynie of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Marie Jamerson of Garvin and Ross Helmet of Culbertson, Montana; a half-sister, Oletha Fowler of Fresno, California; one niece Jonnie Garland Simmons of Fullerton, California; 21 grandchildren. 37 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Norwood-Leonard Chapel in Idabel with the Rev. Gene Strickland officiating. Burial was at Wheelock Cemetery.
