George D. Hunt, 65, of McAlester passed away July 15, 2006, at St. Francis Heart Center, Tulsa. He was born March 22, 1941, in Lawton to George Leon and Opal Adkins Hunt.
George attended grade school in Sterling before moving to McAlester. He graduated from McAlester High School in 1959. He served three years in the Army then worked out of state before returning to McAlester in 2004.
George was preceded in death by his stepfather, Martin Bohreer.
Survivors include his mother, Opal Bohreer of the home; father and stepmother, George and Renaute Hunt of Everette, Washington; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Clare Hunt of Huntington, West Virginia; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Gilbert Spurlock of Huntington; nephews, Jerry D. Hunt and wife Vickie and family of McAlester and Jay Hunt and family of Hartshorne; nieces, Jennifer Murray and family of Ada, Carman Swanson and family of Spencer, Nebraska, and Billie Jean Williams and family of Ada.
