Flora Estella Underwood Henry, 77, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2001 in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Beaumont, Texas. She was born July 2, 1923 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Underwood and Lucy Williams Underwood. Her father was an original enrollee of the Choctaw Nation. A member of the Choctaw Nation, Mrs. Henry was very proud of her American Indian heritage.

Mrs. Henry and her husband, Louis Henry, were longtime residents of Edinburg, Texas. They married in Eninburg on January 2, 1941. Mrs. Henry moved from Edinburg in 1988 shortly after the death of her husband.

Also preceded her in death were her parents; a son, Bobby Joe Henry; and three brothers, William Underwood, Lawrence Underwood and Olen Andrew Underwood.

Survivors include her sons, Charles Henry of Livingston, James Henry of Onalaska, Texas, Billy Henry of Livingston, Texas and Robert Henry of LaPorte, Texas; daughter, Carolyn Lookwood, Lois Starns and Betty McDonald, all of Livingston, Judy Jones of Woodville, Texas, and Joyce Barrett of LaPorte; 31 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; Sisters, Ethelene Trahan of Winnie, Texas, Delores Guillory of Tyler, Texas and Lily May Lee of Mathis Lake, Texas; and a brother, John Underwood of Dallas, Texas.
