Woodrow Gaines, 74, of McAlester, Oklahoma, passed away December 19, 2003, at his home. He was born January 14, 1929, in Red Oak, Oklahoma, to William and Ada (Jefferson) Gaines.

He married Lucinda Beebe on June 20, 1958, in Eugene, Oregon.

Mr. Gaines was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Choctaw-Chickasaw Association. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and had lived the past 20 years in McAlester.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert Winlock and Lewis Gaines, and one sister, Betty Owens.

Survivors include his wife, Lucinda Gaines, of the home; two sons, Paul Gaines of Proctor, Oklahoma, and Stephen Gaines of Greenville, Illinois; three daughters and son-in-law, Rebekah and Randy Williams of Ada, Oklahoma, Lois and Dennis Mayo of Eufaula, Oklahoma, and Sarah and Jimmy Holland of Talihina, Oklahma; grandchildren, Carey, David, Keith and Dakota of Ada, Crystal, Tiffany and Erica of Eufaula, and Krystal, Jason Kassie an Jerry of Talihina; five great-grandchildren and numerous other special grandchildren; brothers, Wesley, William Ray and David Gaines, Henry and Watson Postoak; brother-in-law, Kennion Beebe of Estacada, Oregon; sisters, Willie Joy Jack, Hattie Williamson, Lizzie Carney, Joy Lynn White-Buffalo, Lula Mae Sailor and Willie Joy, and numerous nieces and nephews.
