Amos Gibson, 77, of Hendrix, Oklahoma passed away April 6, 2003 at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. He was born September 9, 1925 in Hendrix, the son of William and Thelma (Franklin) Gibson.

Mr. Gibson was lead man for W.J. Smith Cross Tie Co. He was of Baptist faith and loved hunting, fishing and playing dominoes. Amos also enjoyed ranching, raising cattle and gardening. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Sonny Gibson; sisters, Serena Gibson and Marie Harkins; nephew, Bobby Norton and niece, Quida Hawkins.

Survivors include sisters, Wynoma Lawrence and husband, Teddy, and Linda Newsom, all of Denison; brother, Clayton Gibson, Jr. of California, Michael Embry and wife, Brenda, of Hendrix, Ricky Embry and Charles Lee Newsom, both of Denison, Greg Newsom of Durant, Oklahoma and Kenneth Norton of Mead, Oklahoma; nieces Terri Woodall and husband, Mark, Debra Fuller, Brenda Newsom, Betty Norton, Crystal and Teresa, all of Denison, Texas, Cheryl Jimenez and husband, Steve, of Sherman, Texas, Mary Vogel and husband, Craig, of Dallas, Texas, Tammy Gibson, Wendy and Ginny, all of Arkansas; two great-nephews, Danny Fuller of Denison and Michael Embry, Jr. of Hendrix; three great-nieces, Jennifer Embry and Christy Hawks and husband, Bobby, all of Calera, Oklahoma, and Michelle Gibbons of Denison; one great-great-niece Sarah Embry of Calera, and numerous other great-great-nieces and nephews.
