Carl Donald Frix, Jr., 77, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 1999. He was born March 6, 1922 in Stigler, Oklahoma to Edith (Johnson) and Carl Frix, Sr.
Carl graduated from Sallisaw High School and received a Civil Engineering Degree from the University of Oklahoma, where he enjoyed playing the saxophone in OU bands for four years. He went to work for the McDonnell-Douglas Corporation before enlisting in the U.S. Army during World War II where he used his engineering talents constructing airstrips while stationed in Guam and Okinawa.
In 1950, Carl married Priscilla Dean Lowe and three sons were born to this union, Carl Donald Frix III, Gary Denis Frix, and Kemmy Deane Frix.
Carl Frix, Jr. started a construction company in Muskogee, Oklahoma in the 1950’s and built hundreds of miles of two lane and four lane roads. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Muskogee for over 40 years.
