Senator Harding Colbert Sr., 83, of Ada, Oklahoma, passed away August 3, 2004, at Oklahoma City. He was born April 18, 1921, at Stonewall, Oklahoma, to John Henry Colbert and Ella Mae (Bennett) Colbert.

He attended school at Stonewall and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Colbert was owner and operator of service stations in Ada and was also a farmer. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He married Nora Johnson on June 17, 1946. She preceded him in death on March 17, 1976.

Also preceding him in death were a son, Senator Harding Colbert Jr., April 24, 2004; his parents; a sister, Carrie Allene Richardson; two brothers, Dewey Dewayne Colbert and Theodore Roosevelt Colbert, and one grandson, Shawn Sanders.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Sanders and Joyce Yvonne Gage, both of Midwest City, Oklahoma; two sons, LeRoy Colbert and Dewayne Colbert, both of Ada; a brother, John Wesley Colbert of Joplin, Missouri; a sister, Geraldine Bolton of Kansas City, Missouri; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
