Lennie Compelube, 85, passed away April 22, 2004, at her home in Stockton, California. She was born December 25, 1918, in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Christopher Columbus Compelube, an original enrollee, and Sallie Pusley.

She was raised in McAlester and met and married Cecil Miller. They were married for 20 years. After they divorced, Lennie moved to Stockton to be near her sister, Ruby. She cared for Ruby after she had a stroke until she passed away in 1984. Lennie worked for the Stockton Unified School District for 17 years as a cafeteria manager. She retired in 1981.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Chris, Benny, Betis and Judy; and three sisters, Nellie, Ellen and Ruby.

Survivors include her nieces, Audry Scarbrough and Mae Stalling, both of Texas, and Patricia Udell of Clovis, California; nephews, Ralph Racacho of Stockton and Paul Racacho of Hinesville, Georgia; great-niece, Christine Duerksen; great-nephews, Paul Raby and Robert Racacho; sister-in-law, Emma Compelube, and numerous great-great-nieces and nephews.
