Robert J. Bobby Blackburn, 47, passed away on April 17, 2008, in Elgin. He was born on October 2, 1960, in Fort Sill to Robert J. and Willa Blackburn.

Bobby was raised and attended school in Lawton. He worked for the City of Talihina for 12 years and was the director of the Talihina Emergency Management Services. Robert traveled all over the United States and had many adventures in his life before settling down in Talihina. He married Carolyn Gravitt in Talihina on February 27, 1984.

Bobby was passionate about fishing and hunting. He enjoyed baseball. He coached his stepson’s little league team and cheered him on when he played school ball. He could make you laugh when you were sad and encourage you when you had a bad day. He was a generous, selfless man who will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Willa and Jim Caudill; his stepson and spouses, Kelly Wayne and Ashley Gravitt of Talihina and William Wayne and Shannon Gravitt of Stillwater; brothers, Richard Martin Nance of Germany and David Mitchell Nance of Oklahoma City; sister and her spouse, Trudi and Robert Glass of Elgin; grandchildren, Wayne, Austin and Aubrey Gravitt of Stillwater; nieces and nephews, Betty Sue Archambault and Richard Nance, both of Florida, Heather, Holly and Hanna Glass of Elgin, and Callie, Larry Jr., Crystal and Justin Edwards, all of Panama; and special friends, Robert Solenburg, Travis Klinegardner, Dolores Ward, Robert and Christi Hubbard.
