Martha Lou Marty Grubbs Bell passed away June 4, 2005, at her home in Temple, Texas. She was born December 11, 1941, to Jess Ralph and Mary Uldean Cearley Grubbs.

Mary graduated from McAlester High School in 1959. She then moved to Duncan, Oklahoma, where she attended and graduated from LaJean’s Beauty School.

She met and married her husband, Ronald D. Bell, in Duncan in 1964. Ron was in the U.S. Army and they traveled throughout the United States and Japan making many friends during their tours of duty. Upon retirement, they traveled the United States and later purchased and operated Shady Oaks RV Resort in Ganado, Texas.

Survivors include her husband of Temple; one son, Timothy Glenn Bell of Allen, Texas; two daughters, Hope Renee Bell of Austin, Texas, and Gloria Kay Bell of Pennsylvania, and eleven grandchildren; four sisters, Mary S. Smith of Duncan, Oklahoma, Jessye Mae Martin of Garland, Texas, Norma Louise Peacock of Dallas, Texas, and Judy Kay Lowry of McKinney, Texas; and one brother, Johnny Ross Grubbs of Garland.

Marty was very proud of her Choctaw heritage and worked to see that her children and grandchildren each had their Choctaw cards.
