Alexander J. Sonny Brown, 41, passed away March 28, 2004, at Stratford, Oklahoma. He was born March 29, 1962, at South Gate, California, to Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Brown Jr. of Stratford.

He grew up in Oklahoma City and Stratford. He drove company trucks, but always wanted to drive trucks state-to-state. He loved playing all kinds of sports such as football, baseball, volleyball and men’s fastpitch and horseshoe throwing. Sonny played third base for his father, starting at 14 years old, and had loved it ever since.

In November 2001, Sonny was diagnosed with melanoma cancer and he fought it for two-and-one-half years. He was never married but loved his six nieces and one nephew very much.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Samuel Brown Sr. of Eufaula, Oklahoma, Essie (Hicks) Brown of Okemah, Oklahoma, Collin Postoak and Sina (Frazier) Postoak of Stratford; one sister, Rachael Carmen Brown of Oklahoma City and one uncle, Alexander Postoak of Tulsa, OKlahoma.

Survivors include his five brothers and two sisters, Michael Brown, Eddie Brown and Samuel Brown III, all of Stratford, Tim Brown, Orlando Brown and Colleenia Brown, all of Oklahoma City, and Rachael Mae Brown of Mill Creek, Oklahoma, and one uncle, Jake Brown of Hanna, Oklahoma.
