Sherry Ann Dry Abrahamson, 53, of Madill passed away December 28, 2005, in Madill. She was born January 17, 1952, in Durant to Aaron and Martha Jean Fuller Dry.

Sherry grew up in Madill and later moved to El Reno where she graduated high school in 1970. While pursuing her nursing degree from Murray State College, she was on the Academic Vice President’s Honor Roll. In 1996, she received her registered nursing degree and began working as an ER nurse at Integris Marshall County Medical Center in Madill. Sherry had also earned a doctorate in education with a minor in education administration.

Throughout her life and career she was active in children’s school activities and hospital fund-raisers. She was also a member and at one time had worked for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. She was employed in the tribe’s CETA/Manpower Program from 1976-1979. She had also worked at one time as executive secretary to the director of the Albuquerque Zoo.

She was christened at the Presbyterian Church in Madill when she was three months old and later was confirmed at the Presbyterian Church in Broken Arrow.
