Otis Roy Anderson, 80, passed away March 13, 2000 at his home in Thousand Oaks, California. He was born July 24, 1919 in Pittsburg, Oklahoma, the second son of Osborne B. and Iva Pearl Weathers. Osborne was an original Choctaw enrollee.

Otis attended public school, 12 years at Pittsburg, junior and high school. After graduating he attended Haskell Institute, majoring is business.

He married Jessica Loristine Byrne in Eufaula, Oklahoma in 1938. Jessica preceded him in death in September 1986. They were married 48 years.

Mr. Anderson served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, stationed at Norfolk, Virginia, and later trasferred to Le Havre, France. He continued to his college education at George Washington University, while working with the federal government. He accepted a job with the Internal Revenue Service and moved to Los Angeles, California, working at that position and retiring at an early age.

He enjoyed traveling. His last trip was to China. He loved music and collected mostly oldies.” He also collected coins and enjoyed searching the family genealogy records. He dad a deep love for his family and was proud of his Choctaw heritage. He had a good memory and will be missed for his humor and good stories about the good old days growing up in Oklahoma.
