Searching for relatives-MARTIN?

I’m trying to find my Choctaw relatives and don’t know where to start. I’m 47/128 and I don’t know if that’s a lot or a little but I do have CDIB and membership. There was an adoption in our family in 1960. It wasn’t me but I know the biological family’s last name was Martin and this is where my Choctaw bloodline came from. The adopted child was my mom and she was born in June at Deaconess in OKC. It would be awesome to meet some family, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. I’d really just like to know more of my family’s history and feel connected to my culture. Thanks!

Thanks Suzanne. I actually worked for okdhs child welfare for over 5 yrs. The adoption was private. I appreciate your response though! I will double check again with them.

My name is Jerry Martin and my father was Ted Martin from Howe, Oklahoma he is 1/4 Cherokee and 1/16 Choctaw. His parents names were Hayden and Lucy Seharn. My father came to the pacific northwest and enlisted in the Navy and then met my mother of Yakama Indian -enrolled member
