My father has recently had his family tree generated by a genealogist. From his fathers’s side it has dated back to his Great Great Great Great Great Grandfather which was one of the chiefs from the old Choctaw nation, Apukshunnubbee. Just thought I would share this. It was very exciting to learn of such inspirational ancestors. Unfortunately im pretty sure this does not designate me as a member of the Choctaw Nation but I still have a common interest along with the rest of you.

several people use rootsweb worldconnect records to share their family tree. rootsweb is a free website. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/

and many use ancestry.com because they can store pictures and documents and share their family tree with others. this is a subscription website.

i am sure you are quite excited about it. few documents exist for the time period, although it does help to have a famous ancestor during this time. there would be more written, more documents because someone is famous.

native languages were oral traditions, so the natives did not have records at that time.
