I have known all my life that I am Choctaw. With today’s vast technology, I have found the document I needed to prove this. I would like to see about enrolling in the Choctaw tribe. I have done the research and found the hearing from the tribe acknowledging my grandfather, John Null #228 into the tribe. Due to it being many years ago, late 1800s, there are no birth certificates but I have death certs of my grandfather and father which will link me to him and hopefully, the tribe. The question is, where do I send this info so I can enroll? Any help is appreciated.

try finding him here, click on the # in the card column and look at the family members on this card. if they are your family, then you have the right family group.

i don’t think you need a birth certificate for the original enrollees.

btw, there were others who were known as john null also. so make sure it is your john null.

so you have to have a clear paper trail to the john null who was an original enrollee of the tribe.

this gives the phone # for the department that handles membership applications.

it is a two step process, CDIB card and then tribal membership.

i am just a volunteer that likes to empower people to do genealogy. i am not associated with the tribe, am not a member of the tribe.

thank you so much for your time! I re-read the paperwork and it states: “it appears from our records that on Sept 26,1898, John Null was listed for enrollemnt as a citizen by blood of the Choctaw Nation, having been identified from the 1896 Choctaw Census Roll, Chickasaw District, as number 8698.” This document is from J.P. Reirdon, Hadill, Indian Territory- Muskogee, Indian Territory Sept 23, 1902. (on the top of the document there was “Choctaw 284”). Gguess that’s where I got that number. sorry. THANKS AGAIN FOR ANY HELP> so what’s the next step???? help
