Can someone tell me in what state that Shecoe’s Chickasaw Battalion of Mounted Volunteers originated during the Civil War? I believe it was Arkansas, but I cannot find anything on the unit.

i found a lot of information using google. the area was called arkansas territory or indian territory at the time.
