Indians have five names ;due to many factors.
>names change during growth in maturity
>names change when married
>names change to reflect a “Status”,
amongst our historical tribe “CHOCTAW”
paying close attention is vital…
Indians were given English names to which the spelling of those names may change due to interpretation and the person to be recording the names on the related records.

searching in Ancestry.com is a good source for information.
search the Final Rolls of the Dawes commission to the Five Civilized Tribes

IN THE MCR TESTIMONY CASE FILE
