RL,
I am 1/4 Choctaw and have localized scleroderma and occasional leg and foot burning itching. Seems to me that I had read on a medical site (Medscape) that CREST is notably higher in those of Choctaw descent.
One of the physicians I work with was saying that Dr. Eleanor Lipsmyer (who works as the medical facility that I work in-University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Department of Rheumatology) was actually the physician who put all the symptoms together to name CREST. I understand that she is retiring soon, so may not be taking new patients.
