I’ve been diagnosed with idiopathic hypersomnia. I haven’t had the lumbar puncture to see if it’s narcolepsy w/ cataplexy, yet. I’m like 1/16 Choctaw and 1/16 Jewish. I’m not sure which side of the family it came from.
If you sleep like 10 hours a night, have trouble getting up in the morning with something like morning drunkenness, take 2-3 hour naps if your schedule permits, but are always sleepy and maybe you self medicate with chain smoking and/or massive amounts of coffee or soda, maybe, you should be taking Xyrem.
My may have also had some knee buckling, maybe you thought it was your hips, my ankles turn out when I’m walking some time and getting around is a physical challege due to muscle weakness.
If you know of someone like this, they may have narcolepsy w/ or w/o cataplexy.
