  • Berdie Williams (Historical Tapestry)

Dancing Rabbit, an American Indian Company, was launched by Berdie Williams, 1/2 Choctaw Indian from Durant, Oklahoma. Inspiration for the Choctaw Nation historical tapestry comes from the rich and colorful heritage of the Choctaw people. Each tapestry is woven throughout with important historical events and sites of the Choctaw Nation beginning with the Trail of Tears. This spectacular weaving is presented in fresh colors and is a lasting testament to the strength and courage of the Choctaw people. The Choctaw tapestry is a great gift idea for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas and any time you want to show your Choctaw pride. Each tapestry is $95.00 each and will arrive with a booklet describing the tapestry’s Choctaw history. Shipping and handling is $10.00. They are 55” X 70” in size.

  • Suzanne (Jones) White

For several years, I have been performing as a Native American storyteller in the St. Louis area, focusing on traditional stories. Tim Tingle has been working as my mentor through this time, and continues to do so. I have performed in a variety of settings and to a variety of groups, including the Choctaw Storytelling Festival, the International Institute of St Louis’ Festival of Nations, Kindercare (pre-school), Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, as well as others.

I have been making regalia for many years, primarily I have made Choctaw dress and Cherokee Tear dresses (which can be seen in the photo). As well I make hand-fringed dance shawls and beadwork including collars, rosettes and barrettes.

  • Crystal Widger

Halito! My name is Crystal Widger, I am a mother of 3 rambunctious boys, a wife to a loving husband, and proud to call myself Choctaw. When I was a young girl my mother and grandmother taught me the art of crochet. I always loved watching them crochet, and the time we spent together while they patiently taught me. Now I have a life long gift from them. That is something I will always treasure, something one day I will hopefully get to pass on to my grandchildren. I have been crocheting now for over 25 years and rarely will you see me without a hook and yarn. I enjoy making everything when it comes to crochet from small things like bracelets to larger items such as adult dresses. It is so rewarding to start with a ball of yarn and turn it into something beautiful, but the best reward is seeing other people love my work.
