Dr. Valerie Lambert is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and author of the award-winning Choctaw Nation: A Story of American Indian Resurgence. A Choctaw anthropologist hailing from Oklahoma City, Lambert will be in conversation with Historic Preservation Research Associate and PhD Candidate in Anthropology Megan Baker to discuss Choctaw organizing around Termination in between 1960-1970, the early years of contemporary Choctaw Nation, and their legacies today.
