Carol Mowdy Bond
As a free Lance author and amateur photographer in Oklahoma, I am also a historian with a B.A. in History from Oklahoma State University.
My interests are in children’s and adult literature, and I take some of my own photographs. My 2,500 word nonfiction article “Tribal Political Organizations” is in the 2015-2016 Oklahoma Almanac, available through the publisher on line - the Oklahoma Department of Libraries.
My 30,000 word nonfiction book with 125 color images titled Oklahoma’s Historic Little Dixie was released July 2017. Oklahoma's Historic Little Dixie may be ordered from amazon.com. However, the faster way to receive the book is to order from the publisher, HPN Publishing, San Antonio, TX.
The book is the history of the 18 counties of S.E. Oklahoma, and includes Choctaw and Chickasaw Nation history starting and during the pre-removal era. I am currently working on numerous children’s writing projects. My sister is an artist. She and I have a creative art, photography and writing team - Chahta I Tek Tuklo.
I have two more nonfiction books that will be released in the near future. These are children's books. I also create my own photo greeting cards through my business Carol Bond's Photo Greeting Cards & Matted Prints. My cards are sold in 4 retail locations in 2 states: Full Circle Bookstore, Oklahoma City, OK; Urban Farmhouse Designs, Oklahoma City, OK; Higher Grounds Coffee Shoppe, Bakery & Event Venue, Oklahoma City, OK; Grace Point Bookstore, The Woodlands, TX (Houston).
My photo greeting card images may be found in a Photo Album on my Facebook Page which is Carol Mowdy-Bond -- I also post, on that page, when I have recently had something published.
If anyone contacts me via email, they need to state on the subject line why they are contacting me. Otherwise, I will not open the email. (I've had numerous contacts lately via email.)
