The Elder/Vulnerable Adult Program was established July 2004, through a grant from the Oklahoma District Attorney's Council, VOCA Grant (Victims of Crime Act). Our goal is dedicated to enhancing th safety of elder/vulnerable adults within the Chcotaw Nation boundaries by ensuring equitable access to services and resources necessary to prevent or end abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Thus enabling older Chcotaws and other American Indians to live independent, meaningful, and dignified lived while maintaining close family and community ties. With this program we are providing advocacy for American Indian elders and vulnerable adults and their families by working closely with Choctaw Nation Victim Assistance and DHS Adult Protective Services.
