If you are a Choctaw Indian and have your Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB)card, we urge you to apply for tribal membership. (minors, too). If you do not have your CDIB card, the Choctaw Nation/Tribal Membership Department will be glad to assist you.

Applications for Tribal Membership/Voter Registration can be obtained by contacting this office or by clicking o­n the link below. Your Tribal Membership card shows you are a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, and o­nce you reach the age of eighteen (18)you may participate in voting in Tribal elections. There is no blood quantum requirement for obtaining a CDIB or Tribal Membership as long as you can connect to a direct descendant of yours who was enrolled o­n the final Choctaw Dawes Commission Rolls by blood. You may live anywhere to be eligible to vote.

We now have pictured (photo ID) cards for tribal membership. They are plastic and are about the size of a credit card. These cards are issued to minors and adults alike. All you have to do is become a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.

Note: To apply for an Indian Preference, you must have a CDIB and Tribal Membership card, or complete a Tribal Membership application at the time of requesting an Indian Preference.
