Billy Wayne Beams, 58, of Amarillo, Texas passed away July 27, 2000 at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo. He was born September 3, 1941 at Talihina, Oklahoma to Bentley and Radie Graham Beams. He was a member of the Methodist faith.

Mr. Beams was an honorably discharged vetran having served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam War. He served in the U.S. Army for 21 years, retiring at the rank of E-7 in November of 1982. He then worked for the National Weather Service at various weather stations throughout the United States and Alaska as a data acquisition analyst manager.

He married Mary Hotella on October 27, 1982 in Lawton, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold and Thomas Beams of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister, Myrma Beams.

Survivors include his wife; son, James Beams of Amarillo; daughter, Lillian Beams of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister, Linda Skorodin of Muskogee, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Emily Ybarra of Yuma, Arizona; numerous friends and loved ones.
